A new sibling to the most admired MotoG Series of smartphones is all set to get on sale from tonight. This time Lenovo has chosen amazon for selling moto devices instead of Flipkart which used to be their conventional platform.
Although the device was launched much before it is going on sale, this year in May it was unveiled along with moto G4 Plus with minor differences in terms of specs keeping the build nearly the same. Both the G4 And G4 Plus Comes with latest android Marshmallow out of the box.
So is the Moto G4 worth upgrading from your existing smartphones ? Let’s take a closer look at one of the best budget phones that you can buy.
Display:- moto G4 comes with a 5.5 inches full HD 1080P display offering a 401 pixel density which is well protected by Gorilla glass 3. Display section is a considerable improvement from its predecessor as the earlier versions like motog turbo and moto g3 had a 720p display with 201 Pixel density.
Processor:- It has got a Qualcomm snapdragon 617 chipset which is an octacore soc. Lenovo has done good in this section by not using 615 Soc which do have a lot of heating issues as seen on motoG turbo and Mi4i.
Ram & Storage :- Device comes with a 16GB of onboared storage Coupled with a decent 2GB of ram that works smooth on day to day usage. And you get a good amount of Ram left as the moto devices uses a stock android UI which is less resource hungry. A major add-on to the new G4 devices is that this time lenovo has managed to put an MicroSD slot on the device with support to massive 128GB microSD card. Although G4 doesn’t come in 32GB variant like the G4 Plus.
Camera:- It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) apart from a dual-LED flash. Both sport 5-megapixel front-facing cameras with an 84-degree wide field of view and an f/2.2 aperture.
Battery:- It has a 3000mAh Battery with is not the best we’ve seen on this price bracket but it is capable enough of offering a 1 or 1.5 day of Heavy to mixed usage considering the power hungry 1080P display.
Connectivity:- on board the Moto G4 include 4G LTE with VolTE (Voice over LTE network) , Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS/ A-GPS.
Sensors:- All required sensor of easy operation are available on the device. accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity.
Design:- All in all the Moto G4’s design doesn’t offend. It looks better than its predecessor, but no one is going to stop you in the street and ask you where you got your beautiful phone. By the way we feel G4 and G4 Plus is a little downgrade to the MotoG build Quality.
Pricing 12,499 Indian Rupees. which is good with the set of specifications offered . But we would like to let you know that by putting one thousand rupees more you can go for MOTO G4 Plus with better Camera, Laser auto focus and a fingerprint Sensor as well.
The Moto G4 is an impressive improvement upon older generations of Motorola’s most popular handset and it may well be the best phone you can buy. If you are very tight on budget than its good to go with G4 else add a thousand more Rupees and get G4 Plus with is much superior.
