Born in the sacred region of Brij in Mathura, Pandit Deen Dayal Upaadhyay (25 September 1916 – 11 February 1968) was known as an Indian philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist, and political scientist. He was one of the most important leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Having being an astrologer, Dayal’s father had studied Dayal’s horoscope which predicted that the boy would emerge as a great scholar and thinker, a selfless worker, and a leading politician – but that he would not marry.
The predictions did come out as true. Pandit Deen Dayal led a life of struggles and sacrifices. It was because of his extreme hardwork and burning desire that he budged out such high intellect, despite of being from a poor family.
