Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘ is finally set to release this Diwali, after MSN (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) chief Raj Thackeray assured that his party will no more oppose its release. This entire matter got resolved after MNS chief Raj Thackeray allegedly met chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and other film producers, who promised that they would no longer cast any Pakistani artists in their upcoming movies.
After the Uri attack and surgical strike, the one name which has been buzzing all over the social media is Karan Johar, be it his views on standing against the ban on Pakistani artist, or later coming out with a video message apologizing for his mistake. The media called him anti-national and what not! He was even threatened by political parties and the movie had a lot controversies involved before it’s release.
Slated to release on 28th of October following a screen clash with Ajay Devgan‘s much awaited movie Shivaay, the audience will surely go buy tickets for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil after the long negative publicity it has received from all over. Audience doesn’t need reasons to buy tickets when the movie has none other than Aishwarya Rai, with the trailer showing her sizzling chemistry after a long break, with co-star Ranbir kapoor. Despite all the controversies, people look excited for this movie and can barely wait for the movie to hit the screens.
Amidst all this, Karan Johar is happy as MNS has finally given a green signal for the release of his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which has Pak actor Fawad Khan playing a cameo. Karan had appealed the audience not to boycott his movie as it involves blood and sweat of over 300 crew people and others who have been a part of the flick as well, the fellow producers were much worried about the loss his movie would eventually face.
Johar was apparently sent a cheque of Rs 320 by a Maharashtra-based businessman Karan K Cheema, who said that since he has no interest in watching Ae Dil Hai Mushkil because of its star cast, as a fellow businessman he feels sad about the losses that Johar might have to face. A picture of a letter and a cheque drawn out to Dharma Productions was tweeted out, bringing a lot of reactions. “Here is @karanjohar’s namesake sending him ticket money but refusing to see movie. Fair as he only appealed about loss of money & not about art”, the tweet read. You might call this patriotism or pure insult to the filmmaker.
Cheema’s letter attached with the cheque reads: “I would like to express my grief for you, seeing your video over social media regarding your losses because of casting Pakistani artistes in your forthcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The situation pervading in our country is so perplexed at this stage… Anyway none of us are interested in watching your movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ anymore… As a businessman I still feel sad for your losses so I am enclosing a cheque…of HDFC Bank amounting Rs. 320.00 (assuming 160 per ticket x 2 persons) which is generally charged by movie theatres in our city for your kind perusal.”
Although the authenticity of the letter and the cheaque is not verified but it is has created a lot of buzz on the internet. Twitterati reacted to this;
