Mamata Banerjee has never been in peace with central government. After demonetization, she was one of the leaders who wanted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be removed. Now, her problem has increased. By mid-2018, Modi Government is planning to seal the 223.7 km India-Bangladesh border.
Its quite Clear that Mamata Banerjee’s vote bank was largely influenced by illegal entry of Bangladeshi immigrants. But this time, her vote bank is expected to take a hit. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh disclosed that security would be the top priority of the government in Guwahati while addressing the BJP party workers. The Home Minister announced it with determination and was also quite confident of completing the project in 18 months.
Rajnath Singh said-” This is a conscious decision taken by the Modi Government to highlight the 20 million estimates of illegal Bangladeshi migrants residing in India.” Along with West Bengal, Assam shows the highest incidents of illegal immigration from Bangladesh, where BJP is in majority.
He also said-” There will be no compromise on issues of insurgency in the state.” He reported happily that the violence had considerably come down in the state of Assam.
Rajnath Singh added- “India shares a warm and good relation with Bangladesh, which it will like to continue and stay committed in future. He also said-“We are committed to the Assam accord and will protect it even if we have to amend the constitution.” Rajnath Singh told that the state government should complete the process of updating the National Register Of Citizens(NRC) in Assam.
Further he stated-“If anyone has any grievances, problems or issues the central Government is ready to talk to them and embrace them, but if there is violence, then there will be no compromise.
