The Mahalaxmi temple in Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh recieves offerings of crores whole year either in form of gold or silver ornaments. Every year, during Diwali the same gold and silver is distributed in form of prashad to the devotees.
People from all over the places travel to the temple to pay visit and receive this prashad. Most of the times, their travelling expenditure overlaps the cost of the gold or silver they get in form of prashad. However, these are considered to be blessings of the goddess.
