[Tips] Add New Monitoring Layer over Your WiFi Connection
Have you ever wondered if there is a tool to check all the devices that utilize your WiFi network?
Being a WiFi host is painful sometimes, especially when you keep the connection open. Your neighbors may even take benefit of your connection. That’s why you need a WiFi user tracking solution right away.
Guess what? I have got one; WiFi Analyzer
WiFi Analyzer Review
Simply put, WiFi Analyzer is an Android application that helps you to scan your network, monitor the users and a lot more. Moreover, it can do some simple tweaks that will keep others away from hacking or exploiting your connection.
Let me first walk you through the installation of WiFi Analyzer. Then, I will talk about the features.
How to Install WiFi Analyzer?
Did the above subhead make you confused? Honestly, there is nothing different in installing WiFi Analyzer as compared to any other app.
You need to access the Play Store, search for WiFi analyzer and, tap on Install to begin the process. As the app isn’t heavy, it will not take more than a minute (in a typical connection) to finish the installation.
Once you are done with it, access the list of apps and open WiFi Analyzer.
Features of WiFi Analyzer
WiFi Analyzer has got some enticing features up in its sleeves. Here in this section, I am going to walk you through the same.
#1. Network Analyzer
I have found this feature most useful on WiFi Analyzer. Once you launch the app, you will get a Scan option. (Before you proceed to scanning, make sure you have connected the same WiFi you want to scan. Otherwise, you won’t get the required result).
The scan using the Network Analyzer doesn’t take much time. Finally, you will be given a list of devices and access points.
Hurry! There you go!
#2. Access Point Scan
You can switch between different tabs on WiFi Analyzer interface. One such tab is AP Scan that scans all the available access points around your device.
Let’s say you have many WiFi connections around you and, you want to figure out which one is least crowded.
#3. Map Network
Don’t you want a list based result from the network analyzer? Then, you must try Map Network feature as it gets you a graphical representation of all the devices that use your WiFi connection.
You will not find any trouble in figuring out the connected devices on the map because it’s more comprehensible than the list.
#4. Scan Ports
If you keep any port open on your machine, it will get you on the brim of vulnerability. Having an open port fetches more sneak peeks.
Our app here has a dedicated Port Scanning facility, using which you can recognize open ports. What you need is an IP address or domain name.
In case you want to scan ports of any devices in the list generated by the Network Analyzer, you don’t need anything but a single tap on the appropriate button.
#5. Internet Speed Test
I know there are some other reputed speed test apps. But considering the other features of WiFi Analyzer, this is handy. And, you can decrease the device load by uninstalling the dedicated speed test app as well.
WiFi Analyzer has come up with a Ping feature which helps you realize what device is active and what isn’t.
It aids you in finding the devices that use your connection at the present.
#7. Check WiFi Strength
Yeah, it’s possible! You can determine the strength of your WiFi connection without sweating much.
Just tap on WiFi Strength button inside the app interface. It will display the strength in some attractive colors.
#8. Determine Cell Data Strength
WiFi isn’t the only way to connect to the internet on a mobile, is it?
You can also make use of mobile data for this purpose. When you are not attached to a wireless network, WiFi Analyzer displays cell data strength.
#9. Check Whether a Domain or IP is Blacklisted
There is a blacklist checker available on WiFi Analyzer interface that will help you determine whether an IP is safe or not. You can also use a domain instead of an IP for the same purpose.
- Whois data
- Established connections checker
- DNS lookup
- Trace route
- Access point graph and strength
- Channel rating
- Public IP address
I have given you the complete information about WiFi Analyzer now. It’s up to you whether to go with or not. In fact, it’s free to use.
As far as I am concerned, I had been on a quest to find such an app to monitor all the devices that use my WiFi connection. Now I got it, and it made me satisfied.
It’s your turn now!
